Germany & AI
In 2018 Germany published its AI strategy headed by the German Government for Economic Affairs (BMWi). With the slogan “AI Made in Germany” the German government wants to encourage particularly its industry in the AI transition. With a total of 4 billion euro’s available for research, development and applications in AI, Germany wants to become AI frontrunner in Europe.
The German government invests in 12 so called action fields from fundamental research, trechnology transfer, start-ups, data sharing, standardization and societal dialogue in order to make AI a human centric and widespread technology in Germany and Europe.

Plattform Lernende Systeme
Plattform Lernende Systeme is the executive organization for the German AI strategy. They are part of the German Academy of Sciences and organized in several working groups. The working groups exist of members from academia, private sector and governments. They publish advises and white papers on where the German government should act with regards to specific AI fields such as with standardization or human capital.
